5,000 for Pera: Netroots community asks you to contribute to Mark Pera for Congress

Leaders of the Democratic Netroots community (DailyKos, OpenLeft, SwingStateProject, DownWithTyranny, FireDogLake and Crooks&Liars) have banded together to help us close out our campaign for change in Washington D.C.

If you've been waiting to contribute, we are just 22 days out from the Feb. 5 Democratic Primary Election here in IL-03 and it's time to get involved in "the big push." To find out how to do that, please give us a call at (708) 579-2834.

The goal, as outlined by DailyKos' own Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, is to collect 2,700 online contributions to bring our total number of online contributions to 5,000.

If change is the theme of this election year, we have a unique opportunity here in IL-03...

Mark offers this district a new direction and mainstream Democratic values. As most of you know by now Congressman Dan Lipinski has voted consistently with President Bush and the Republicans on the issues that matter most to Americans - Iraq, energy and the environment, choice and embryonic stem cell research.

Just like voters across the country, voters here are sick of politics as usual in Chicago, Cook County, Springfield and Washington D.C. They are fed up with the nepotism, cronyism, corruption and back-room deals. On Feb. 5, we can bring an end to these practices by electing Mark to Congress.
