Trevor Montgomery, 23, is an Iraq war veteran and a Mark Pera for Congress staffer. Please take a few seconds and click here to watch a video clip featuring Montgomery talking about why he supports Pera's bid for Congress:

Montgomery is a senior airman with the Illinois Air National Guard. He served his tour in Iraq during the summer of 2006.

Montgomery said while our troops have served with distinction, Congress and the rest of the federal government is on the wrong track in regards to Iraq.

"I'm proud of my service and I'm proud of the dedication and commitment shown by the men and women serving in Iraq, but I have major objections to some of the policy decisions that took place and are still taking place in Washington D.C. and the Bush White House," he said.

Montgomery said these misguided policies compelled him to get involved in a campaign that calls for change.

"I strongly believe there need to be more members of Congress who are willing to break ranks, stand up to President Bush and work together to create a common-sense Iraq policy, one that calls for a safe and orderly troop withdrawal," he said.

"As I said in the video clip, I believe I am continuing to serve my country by working for Mark's campaign. Congressman Dan Lipinski refuses to act to end this war and I know Mark is not afraid to act on his beliefs. I hope you, like many others, will consider getting involved in this campaign as well."
