"Santa Dan's Gifts to Big Oil"
Even though the oil companies have been very, very naughty, Santa Dan keeps putting them on the 'nice' side of his gift ledger. In 2005, he voted to give them $8 billion in tax breaks and permission to drill for oil in Santa Claus' own backyard — the pristine Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).
Maybe the reason why Santa Dan keeps giving gifts to the naughty oil companies is because of instead of cookies, they leave him cash every year, and a lot of it. In fact, they've given him $26,000 in campaign cash since 2005.
And what did Santa Dan give all the good boys and girls in Illinois' 3rd Congressional District this year? Something much worse than coal: Record gas prices!

Our first direct mail piece landed in the mailboxes of voters across Illinois' 3rd Congressional District last week. The ad is yet another way to spread our campaign's message, that it is time to end this war, that our troops need to come home within a year and that Congress needs to stand up to President Bush and cap funding to make that happen. We will be posting additional direct mail pieces on our Web site as the arrive at the homes of local voters.
